Wedged between the Liedeweg and Liede river, seven houses are realized on the spot of a former contracting company. The characteristics of the former contracting company are reflected in the new plan. The individual character of the houses is essential in this plan since (semi)detached houses are traditonally not to be found in a dike based village like Haarlemmerliede. The traditional subtle plasticity in the facades, created by man-made typical brickwork details, is reflected in plasticity of the ensemble with the use of contemporary detailing.
The plans of the houses are designed in a way that maximum freedom of arrangement and usage is possible for the user. An optimized core and its materialization is fixed; interior walls, openings and outdoor spaces can be adapted to the end user.
The lots are composed in sawtooth formation to subdivide the total and to emphasizes the individuality of the single house, all houses face the water.
